De Staffing Groep
Creating concept & design
their new website
De Staffing Groep one the largest Dutch secondment agencies that mediates between organisations and independent professionals. They asked us to create a new concept and design for their primary website.
De Staffing Groep wanted to improve on their digital customer experience. Their old websites were outdated and didn't support them sufficiently in the process of servicing and obtaining professionals and organisations. Me and Tiago would form the design team, in which he would do the part of brand and visual design, and I was responsible for the UX and interaction part of the design process.
Defining the concept
Since most of the research was already done and the online strategy was already done by some one else, we could quickly jump into defining a concept. The first thing we did was to organise a design workshop with people of de Staffing Groep. By inviting a mixed group of people from many levels of the organisation, we could get perspectives from different angles. We did fun exercises with them, got to know them better and tried to find out what kind of website would best suit them.
After the workshop me and Tiago got to work on defining the concept. Since we knew the target audience was young, smart and demanding, we had think of ways on how to gain the thrust of this specific target audience. The concept should therefore have an appealing, modern and open look. In parts of content and functionalities the concept should have a strong focus and very little distraction. Users should experience relief and easy of doing business.

From concept to full design & build
Once the outlines were clear I could start working on the information architecture and requirements for functionalities and content. I gathered all the information from research, the online strategy and our little workshop and try to come up with a proper UX design for the concept we had in mind. To help me shape my ideas, I also worked out some flow diagrams and wireframes. This would help Tiago to start working on the user interface design.
After a few days of hard work on the concept and designs we went back and presented it to them. They liked what they saw and with a few little adjustments we could continue our work on designing the rest of the website for the first release.
